Accommodation and Transport

Accommodation

Oceania MathsJam Gathering 2022 will be at Christchurch's Spencer Beach Holiday Park, in the Koru Lodge Hall.

Shared accomodation

Shared accomodation in the bunk rooms of the Spencer Park Lodge is available to OMG registrants for just $10 extra on your ticket price. The main room of the Lodge is where the majority of OMG will happen, and it has a large kitchen and bathrooms built in so you won't miss any of the action! You may opt in to the shared accommodation for either or both the nights of Friday 7th and Saturday 8th October for the same flat price. Limit 36 per night, so get in quick.

Important: Bed linen will not be provided, so you must bring your own, or optionally hire some from the camp office for an additional $7.50 per person.

Individual bookings

If you prefer something more private you are encouraged to book your own accomodation at Spencer Park Lodge such as a studio unit, tourist flat or cabin, these are all a short walk from the Lodge. The camp has asked for people to phone them to book and let them know that you're coming for the Oceania MathsJam Gathering so they can keep us all in a cluster where possible. View the options on their website then call the camp office. Their phone number is +64 3 329 8721.

For locals

If you live nearby and would rather commute to the venue for the day on Saturday and Sunday this is also welcome - just make sure you check in at the camp office as a visitor when you arrive each day. Drive to the camp office at 100 Heyders Rd, Spencerville, and they'll point you in the direction of the Lodge. There is plenty of onsite parking available.

Transport

We are happy to provide transport from Christchurch Airport or the Central City Bus Interchange out to Spencer Park for $5 (to help cover petrol costs). Feel free to contact us by email bout collection/drop off to other areas and we'll see what we can do.

Teleportation

Unfortunately we were not able to secure a large enough energy source that could be practically used in the environment to provide the immense amount of power required to safely teleport MathsJammers to the event. Therefore teleportation will not be available as a transport option to the Oceania MathsJam Gathering this year.
